Rolesville’s balanced offense too much for Watauga

The Rolesville Rams had four players finish in double digits in a 55-52 nailbiter against the Boone Watauga Pioneers. The Pioneers had a 20-7 lead at the end of one but shooting fell cold in the second and third quarters where the Rams shooters got hot.

Taliya Rowe led the Rams with 14 points while Caitlyn Jones and Laila Lewis were right behind her with 13 points a piece. Kayla Bush tacked on another 12 with Bush and Lewis both adding 7 rebounds each.

Watauga was led by junior Kate Sears who finished with a game high 16 points to go with her 5 rebounds.

Rolesville will play in the Wonderland bracket fifth place game on Saturday against the winner of Charlotte Mallard Creek-Chapel Hill. Watauga looks to finish the 2023 John Wall Holiday Invitational with a win against the loser of the other consolation game.
