Moravian Prep overcomes shooting woes to win Sharpe third place game

The Hudson Moravian Prep Lions couldn’t find their rhythm in the first half but came out on top of a 65-62 battle with the Raleigh Millbrook Wildcats in the Day’Ron Sharpe third place game. The Lions started 8 for 34 from the floor in the first half and went to the locker room with a 10 point deficit to overcome. Moravian started the second half a red hot 5-9 from behind the arc but didn’t get their first lead until the fourth quarter.


The Lions were led by South Carolina commit Eli Ellis who finished tied for the game high in scoring with 25 points to go with 6 steals and 4 assists. Big man Don Lewis added 17 points of his own and pulled down a game high 11 rebounds.


The Wildcats were paced in scoring by junior Colt Langdon with 25 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Senior Alex Olander added 15 and 8 in points and rebounds respectively.


Moravian Prep finishes third in the Day’Ron Sharpe bracket at the 2023 Holiday Invitational.
